  1. Short: FIDO net mail/news reader/tosser
  2.  
  3.            The  Foozle  Mail  Manipulation  System  ("Foozle")  is a fast
  4.        FidoNet-compatible     message-editor/tosser/scanner/packer.    In
  5.        simpler  terms  it  is  a  program  to  import messages from other
  6.        FidoNet-systems into  your local  database, to  export messages to
  7.        other FidoNet-locations, to read and write messages and to do some
  8.        other nice things.

  10.            If you previously worked with some fidonet-compatible software
  11.        on your  Amiga, Foozle  will merely  replace CE / CM / FastPoint /
  12.        GCC(host) / Juliet / oMMM  /  PointManager  /  RMB  /  TrapToss or
  13.        whatever you  have used  in one  single program.  Only a mailer is
  14.        lacking, so you have to  use  one  of  the  existant  mailers like
  15.        BinkleyTerm,  TrapDoor   or  WelMat.  Actually,  this  program  is
  16.        designed to be run with TrapDoor  version 1.74  or higher,  but it
  17.        also works with other mailers and other versions of TrapDoor.

  19.            All parts  of the program are written in assembly language for
  20.        the reason of speed and comfort.

  22.            Foozle is designed to work with a HardDisk and at least 1MB of
  23.        RAM. If  you want  to keep a message base with typically more than
  24.        20-30 areas - depending on the  other  utilities  you  run  in the
  25.        background  -  it  is  recommended  to  have even more free store.
  26.        Foozle needs about 200KB for  the  program,  its  buffers  and the
  27.        screen. Each  area uses  at least  2KB (if you do not have a dupe-
  28.        table and less than 100 messages).  But remember:  if you  want to
  29.        im- or export, you also need memory for the archive-utility (about
  30.        150KB)  and for fast exports you should store all  temporary files
  31.        in the ram-disk which can also absorbe quite a bit of memory.
